Chopsticks

China Daily reported on August 10 Friday that an  official with the China Cuisine Association demanded 'Call to abandon use of wooden chopsticks.  China produces and discards more than 45 billion pairs of wooden chopsticks every year.  However the reasoning is totally misleading. that 'that's a heavy blow to the country's dwindling forests'. The use of the disposable chopsticks has been debated for years and now that it is so commonly accepted that the produciton of wooden or bamboo chopsticks can contribute to the maintenance of the forestry because the chopsticks are product of the smaller trees in the big forests. The statement of Cuisine Association seems to be groundless and rather accusing the agrarian production and negating the wisdom of food habits in the East. Suppose if the Airlines can adopt wooden disposable chopsticks instead of heavy metal utensils, it can definitely save the energy and dominance of fork and knife culture. Japan imports massively thouse disposable chopsticks and rather seems to contribute to the maintenance and welfare of the mountain people  in China.  Chopsticks should not be blamed as a cause of sanitation problems, focused before Olympics.

Chopsticks are environmentally friendly and energy efficient and rather saves the agrarian and poorer side of the society.. China daily seems to have discarded the fair distribution of wealth ideals.
