Fukushima Nuclear Accident Update
Today is April 19, 2011 and now more than one month has passed and it is into the sixth week since the devastating earthquake and tsunami assaulted the eastern Japan, which is natural disaster, and the worst-ever nuclear power plant failure at the Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant destroyed by the unprecedented height of tsunami, which is definitely a very serious human miscalculation and error.
Mr H Nishiyama, Deputy Director-General, Nuclear and Industry Safety Agenc, METI, Mr N Shikata, Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Public Relations and Mr T Matsunaga, Assistant Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefed on the latest development of the crisis management respectively and a question and answer session followed, at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan at Yurakucho, Tokyo, Japan.
