Onagawa Junior High School Students and thier Hope for the Reborn Community

A Prinicipal, Mr Shungo Ouchi and a teacher, Mr. Kazuhiko Abe and eight students of the Onagawa No.1 Junior High School, Miyagi Prefecture came to Tokyo as a show of thanks at a luncheon meeting on July 7th at the Foreign Correspondents Club.

The death toll in Onagawa, a town of population of about 10000, by the massive assault of the Tsunami which reportedly was 18 meter high  reached 450 and more than 800 remain missing. Five students were orphaned after losing both parents. 34 students lost one parent and many lost siblings, relatives and friends.
